2 Fitness, Bodybuilding & Protein: What is Protein? Most people who work out and want to build muscle know that they need protein in their diet to achieve results. But what does it actually do and how does it work?

In this video we’ll look at what proteins are and what they do in your body, how your body builds them with the help of amino acids and why you need proteins in your food when you are into bodybuilding and want muscle.

For those of you interested in the topic of soy limiting production of testosterone that is mentioned in the video, here is some scientific research on the subject:

2 Bodybuilding.com Guide to Soy ProteinLearn the benefits of Soy Protein in this quick video from Bodybuilding.com and supplement expert Anthony Almada!

Soy protein is a complete protein that ranks right up there with the best in the Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS). Soy protein is generally very low in or free of fat, cholesterol, and lactose.

Soy protein is approved for those who are lactose intolerant, and can be used as a meat substitute. Much more than just an ingredient for a protein shake, Soy protein can be used for cooking instead of flour, producing high protein foods that are extremely low in fat, a bodybuilder’s dream come true! Appetite control with whey protein

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

2 Appetite control with whey proteinResearch shows that whey is more effective than other proteins at suppressing appetite.

Whey is a highly nutritious extract from milk, left over from cheese making.

Whey protein is better at suppressing appetite than turkey, tuna and egg proteins.

Whey protein is also more effective at suppressing appetite than casein and soy protein powders.

Whey protein is great mixed in smoothies, or it can also be added into cooking.

Whey protein has a light milky taste.

Whey protein dosage varies, but it is normally in the range of 20-40g per day.

Try to buy plain whey protein, as many companies use unhealthy artificial flavours, sweeteners and other unwanted additives.

Solgar does one of the best whey proteins called whey to go. They use a very good hormone free whey protein.
